A sweet, sexy food processor made her grin ear to ear and the first recipe tonight... a delicious greek hummus. Very tasty and the flavors linger whether I want them to or not. You only need a dish, patience and an oven mitt, the rest is magic!... but, to cover my butt I should say the better half has been slaving in the kitchen for the last couple hours making Thanksgiving apple and pumpkin pies. She is the real magic pie maker. Brownie points, take them where you can get them.

Harvest is here and this year, with the success in the carrot department, pickling was on the menu. There are tons of fast and easy recipes out there so if you're bored of gnawing on those carrots, try something new... try pickling! Cauliflower, onion, broccoli stems, cucumber and radishes work well too. Crunchy goodness!

After exploring the area more, we are finding little edible bonuses around the neighborhood. On a what-should-be road, instead footpath, live cherry sized plums and delicious crab apples. Also, there are tons of blackberries down the road where Katana and I grabbed tubs and headed out for a little urban foraging. The final result, little blackberry pies or tarts if you will. Ummmmm, delicious!
