Black Rock - Kaanapali Beach, Hawaii

VIDEO #382
My recent visit to Maui was just what the doctor ordered. Beautiful beaches and warm weather fixed my Portland grey sky sadness right up. I highly recommend the trip if you can take it in the winter!

Mother Nature at Work

VIDEO #349
Song - "Happiness" by Jonsi and Alex
From the other day, I had a handful of clips I liked and wanted to put something together, here's what came from it. Good old mother nature showing us what she's made of. She's a beauty, but sure can be a beast sometimes.

Vitamin D

VIDEO #343
Song - "Wonderwall" Performed by Cat Power
Rain is back in the extended forecast here in these neck of the woods so I thought I'd treat myself to a great memory of a hot summer's day at the beach with my favorite girl. These are the days we need in our extended forecast, help us out Mr Roker!

Let's Clam

VIDEO #326
Song Line Up: "Louis, Louis" performed by Teitur, "Collect Call" by Metric and "Walking With A Ghost" by Tegan & Sara
We headed to Long Beach, WA for a little razor clam dig, unfortunately we didn't do very well but tons of fun was still had. Check for the next dig, get your clam gun, clam license and cook up some tasty chowder! Ummm um.

500 Miles

VIDEO #220
Song - "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" by The Proclaimers
I wanted to try a different edit with the recent footage from the big walk so here you go. We might not want to admit it but we all know everyone loves this song, and how couldn't you with this video? It's just good old, clean fun. Ba-Da-Dut-Da!

Indian Summer Sunset

VIDEO #217
Song - "Statued" by Adem and Real sounds from the Pacific
If any of you out there were wondering what the sunset looked like tonight from the Pacific Ocean, have a look for yourself. A high of 70 degrees wasn't too bad for a November day. If everything works out, I will follow up with the journey that led up to this epic sunset tomorrow. Get ready for a long hike!

Pleasant, Unpleasant: The Ocean

VIDEO #206
Great Sounds of the Pacific Ocean
Now, I couldn't really hear what the family at the beach was talking about so I thought I would create a couple scenarios. I think it's possible each version took place verbatim, humans are super predictable.

LONGest BEACH

VIDEO #117
Song - "My Beach" by Human Highway
28 sandy miles makes Long Beach, Washington the longest beach in the world (further research proves it isn't but it is the United States longest which is pretty fantastic). With foggy and brisk weather, we had to wear what we could find from our recent visit to Long Beach's annual rodeo (awesome videos sure to follow). Besides the unpredictable weather, a great place to get some fresh chowder and possibly catch your own, driving on the beach, amazing bakery, great people watching and of course the Long Beach Tavern aka the LBT to wet your whistle after long windy walks on the beach. Oh, and the bridge you'll see spans the Colombia River from Oregon to Washington. Also, great fun.

Congratulations Marissa and Chad

VIDEO #059
Song - "A Eme O" by Andrea Echeverri
We had the privilege to photograph a beautiful wedding down in Cabo, Mexico with our new friends Marissa and Chad. I thought I'd put together a sneak peek before the photos get sent out. Why I chose the movie theater setting, no one knows but enjoy anyways!

A Swim With The Fish

VIDEO #056
Song - "The Funeral" by Band of Horses
Chileno Bay in Cabo is a great spot to see tons of fish. Free if you drive yourself, but beware, the security person in the lot only works off of tips... hum, which means if you don't tip him, no security? I don't know... Mexico is weird like that.

Cabo Skimboarding

VIDEO #055
Song - Crazy Train" remix by Twisted Sister
Down in Cabo, Mexico, there were some serious shore break waves which, when out, really hard to get back in. On this day it wasn't too bad so the Zap skimboarders took advantage of it. I talked to one of the guys and he was super cool so I thought I'd give a shout out. Pretty amazing how the sport is evolving into a more technical, extreme style sport. Here's the website: ZAP

Manzanita Christmas Vacation

VIDEO #008
Song - "Wave of Mutilation" by The Pixies
Slideshow #001. Photos from the Oregon Coast at Manzanita around Christmas in '09 with family (hence, Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase... we watched it through the window from the hot tub, highly suggest this way to watch all classics).

Stayed at a really great beach house that I would recommend to medium/large groups. Look up the "Seaward Dream" rental and don't forget to invite me.

Walk Hard

VIDEO #002
Song - "Footsteps" by JJ Grey and Mofro
Collection of various POV shots, ok... lets see, where was I? First clip crossing the log is around Bagby Hot Springs, Oregon. The second log cross is in Forest Park, Portland. The rocks and sand with my favorite old sandals (which were huge) took place by Lake Superior, Minnesota. Snowshoes took place around Mt. Hood and snowboarding was on Hood. Might get some of you dizzy!
