Some of my favorite moments from the year were very simple. Spontaneous hikes in and around Oregon, smiling with my sweetheart, great music and the comfort of a new home. So, in retrospect, I'd like to throw this out there...... breakdancing, teleporting, pocket dogs, holiday nut sacks and redneck birds might appear to be 'what it's all about'... but it's not. It's about the Hokey Pokey.

Yesterday was so fun going out in the freezing cold, showering in the rain, that I thought maybe I'd find a way to do that again today. Not that Portland will have a drought anytime soon, when the day comes, here is the stock video that all the news stations will buy. Brrrrrrrrrrr..... hot shower!

Whoa.... what was that big ball of light in the sky today? Yep, Portland had a sunny day in January! Hearing on the news lately it looks like the East Coast is getting hit pretty hard with huge snow storms. Hummmm, well other than the exception of today, I don't feel too bad for you folks. Why? It too, is miserable out here however the results are simply human depression. No snow or destruction, slight winds you can not hear, rain that floats... hey, if it's gonna be cold and gray, let it follow with something exciting. But yeah, today was incredible.

You may or may not remember the video I posted of me walking into the waterfall a couple months ago (Here is the Video)... well, I headed back to the Columbia River Gorge to visit a couple other falls including Multnomah and Horseshoe Falls. I don't think it was necessarily the cold, freezing water that kept me from taking a shower but the thought of getting impaled by a falling 15 foot icicle. I know, the video would have been much more epic seeing something like that. I need a stunt double.

Pulling double duty tonight, getting the kitchen and my camera clean, two birds.... one stone, Sean Connery style as if he was Hunting for the Red October in my kitchen sink. Finally, a video that makes doing dishes look awesome, maybe show this the the upcoming generation? Make dish duty seem hip man.

I headed back out to the Columbia River where I recently took the canoe to walk around the low flowing river. With 2 days of rain, the water level reached somewhere around 50 yards closer to shore from 2 weeks ago but the depth was inches allowing me to walk way out. Very cool time of the year to check it out.

Chileno Bay in Cabo is a great spot to see tons of fish. Free if you drive yourself, but beware, the security person in the lot only works off of tips... hum, which means if you don't tip him, no security? I don't know... Mexico is weird like that.
