Marsh's Free Museum

VIDEO #328
Sounds of the Weird
In the last video from Long Beach, we stopped on over to Marsh's Free Museum to visit Jake the Alligator Man, the two headed calf and all the other strange oddities the museum has in store. Oh, and did I mention it's free? It's hard not to throw a nickel or dime in the antique novelty machines. A must see if in the town, you can't afford not to check it out!

Mr. Krabs

VIDEO #327
Song - "Migration" by Jimmy Buffett
Getting fresh crab from OleBob's in Ilwaco, WA sure beats the landlocked grocery store! Even the cats agreed.
Here's a video in the days we couldn't afford to buy crab: VIDEO #50

Let's Clam

VIDEO #326
Song Line Up: "Louis, Louis" performed by Teitur, "Collect Call" by Metric and "Walking With A Ghost" by Tegan & Sara
We headed to Long Beach, WA for a little razor clam dig, unfortunately we didn't do very well but tons of fun was still had. Check for the next dig, get your clam gun, clam license and cook up some tasty chowder! Ummm um.

Super 8

VIDEO #325
Song - "Hotel" by Cassidy featuring R. Kelly
Sometimes it's fun to stay in an all America style hotel off the main drag kind of hotel/motel like the Super 8. All the fanciest amenities one could ask for and then some. So, when heading to Long Beach Washington, don't shy away from this destination. It's well worth every hard earned American dollar... and the chicks dig guys who stay here.

Maryhill Wine Tasting

VIDEO #191
Song - "Red, Red Wine" by Neil Diamond
Wine tasting in Oregon and Washington is a huge perk living in the Pacific Northwest. Maryhill is right over the Columbia River from Oregon in Goldendale, WA. They are a higher volume producer than most wineries around the area and have recently added a concert venue to their estate. Now, if you were to drive down the way and drop in to another tasting room, it might not be so elaborate. For example, one of my favorite wineries, Paradisos del Sol in Zillah, WA, is a tiny house you pull up to and meet the owner/winemaker who pours his wine for you. I looked into it and their distribution is pretty minimal but they do ship to Washington, Minnesota and Alaska.... kind of random, huh? All the other 47 states have to make the drive.

Jack Johnson in Concert

VIDEO #189
Song - "Inaudible Melodies" by Jack Johnson (recorded and live)
Usually, I am not a huge fan of the big-crowd concert but the Gorge is a good exception. Yeah, lots of people and lines for the bathroom that made you nervous in that you might not make it in time.... but as a whole, the night was excellent. G Love, Zee Avi and Jack Johnson put on a great show.

How Bout Them Apples?

VIDEO #188
Song - "Apples and Bananas" - A Teacher's Song
In the recent visit to Selah, Washington I was fortunate enough to be part of something very few people will get to experience in their lives. Yes, it is true... I have stepped onto the apple juice capital of the world's soil! If this remain to be true, I am a proud and fulfilled man. Life can end now. If this is not true and the sign's fact is outdated... well, that is the only thing keeping me alive I guess.

A Day on the Columbia

VIDEO #183
Song - "Hip Hop No Pares" by Mexican Institute of Sound
Here it is! The video that peaks the hill and brings it on home to the 365 videos. It's smooth sailing from here on out!

Part two of the epic paddle in the Columbia River Gorge was by far, the best day of Fall. This might have to happen again before the weather turns gray. Good times, though, good times!

LONGest BEACH

VIDEO #117
Song - "My Beach" by Human Highway
28 sandy miles makes Long Beach, Washington the longest beach in the world (further research proves it isn't but it is the United States longest which is pretty fantastic). With foggy and brisk weather, we had to wear what we could find from our recent visit to Long Beach's annual rodeo (awesome videos sure to follow). Besides the unpredictable weather, a great place to get some fresh chowder and possibly catch your own, driving on the beach, amazing bakery, great people watching and of course the Long Beach Tavern aka the LBT to wet your whistle after long windy walks on the beach. Oh, and the bridge you'll see spans the Colombia River from Oregon to Washington. Also, great fun.

Nuclear Terror!!!

VIDEO #101
Atomic Cafe Propaganda
The Trojan in Washington State is long gone but not forgotten. Why we look back at an enormous structure that emitted huge pollutants into our atmosphere as something to be proud of as an accomplishment to marvel in... like, "ahhh the Trojan, I remember that, ahhhh", no one knows, but it seems fairly obvious that when it implodes it's really fantastic!

100 Time Lapse Videos

VIDEO 100
Song - "Paper Aeroplane" by Angus and Julia Stone
100 consecutive videos, wow! I am thrilled to have made it this far and hope to follow with 265 more. To celebrate, I chose 100 time lapse clips I've shot through out the years. For those who know me well, you might find yourself making a cameo in the montage. Well, back to work. For those tuning in, drop in, say hi and leave a comment. Knowing people are watching helps to make it all happen. Thank you all for the support!

Take A Hike

VIDEO #012
Song - "Drangkinbala" by Biekbala Mujik
Hiking up the Columbia Gorge on the Oregon side to Angel's Rest. Nice forest, not too much for waterfalls... mainly for the view overlooking The Gorge. Worth the steep hike.
