Sledding with the Ladies

VIDEO #399
No matter who you are and what ever your age, sledding is one of those activities that is hard to do without laughing out loud. Family and friends headed to what I call "Chaos Mountain" up in Government Camp for a little snow play. I did not capture much footage from the day because it was that much fun, very little time for filming. By the end of our time at Chaos Mountain, all left with perma-grins and many have the bruises to prove it. Viva, El Caos Montana!

The Life of Harry the Snowman

VIDEO #333
The Life of Harry the Snowman Theme Music
I am terribly sad to say... that today...Harry left us. He is now in a better place. Snowman heaven. I know he's looking down at me smiling, wanting me to know everything is going good up there and that he will look over me when he's not occupied with snowman heaven festivities. Harry, here's to you good buddy. I love you so much. Take care of yourself.

A Late Winter

VIDEO #332
Song - "Brackett" by Bon Iver
Spring sprung early, snow fell late... only time will tell if the groundhog was right or wrong.... either way, life will go on. Yes, I am deeply looking forward to a summer filled with medium hot temperatures. Not too hot where a pool is mandatory, just hot enough to be a luxury. Oh summer, how I miss thee.

Extreme Urban Sledding

VIDEO #331
Song - "Hello Fascination" by Breathe Carolina
The snow is almost completely gone already so we had to get the most out of it and try out the new action sport, "Extreme Urban Sledding!" I think in a couple years we'll be seeing this in the X-Games and in about 10 years, the Winter Olympics. Just remember, you saw it here first folks!

Snow Day

VIDEO #330
Song - "Frosty the Snowman" A Rondo Brothers Remix
Can you tell we do not get snow out in Portland that often? People get crazy out here when the "Arctic Blast" hits. Granted, we can get pretty nasty ice storms, but the 2 inches we get shuts the city down, people run to the market for canned goods, flashlights, and shovels... it's madness. Nothing like the 2 feet of snow overnight in Minnesota but still, it's snow and we'll take it.

Who doesn't love a little sledding here and there? I have a feeling there will be more sledding to come here very soon, epic and dangerous, awesome and extreme.... sledding.

The Ski Lift

VIDEO #263
Song - "Rain and Snow" by The Be Good Tanyas
With the snow this evening, I was inspired and felt like making it snow a little myself. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Snowshoeing

VIDEO #249
Song - "I Can See Clearly Now" by Jimmy Cliff
While most people in Oregon were watching the Civil War college football game between the Ducks and Beavers, we headed out for a little fresh air, threw on some snowshoes and went for an afternoon hike around Mt. Hood. However, it didn't take too long before we joined the masses at the closest bar for beers and football. Best of both worlds.

The Amazing Race

VIDEO #248
Song - "Crazy Train" by Forever the Sickest Kids (Ozzy Cover)
It might seem obvious who would win in a race between someone with snowshoes and someone running backwards with hiking boots in the snow... it's seeing the race and adding dog obstacles that makes it unpredictable.

The First Snowfall

VIDEO #236
Songs - "Let It Snow" performed by Frank Sinatra followed by Boyz II Men
You thought it was pretty silly of us making snowflakes and hanging them in the window yesterday, huh? I almost did too until about 45 minutes ago when a great Pacific NW flurry stopped on by! We are pretty excited, maybe a tomorrow a snowman... although I don't want to jinx it, however a snow angel would be awesome.

Snowflakes

VIDEO #235
Song - "The Nutcracker Suite" by The Berlin Symphony Orchestra Remix
Tomorrow, if not tonight, should be the first snowfall in Portland and we're looking forward to seeing the spectacle. So... I've been subject to Martha Stewart Magazine, which the better half subscribes to and yes, sometimes I catch myself interested, please don't tell non-followers... umm, so we made snowflakes and that will ensure snow for tomorrow. You're all very welcome Portland.

Goodbye Winter

Song - "The End's Not Near" by Band of Horses
Portland is finally starting to heat up so I thought I'd pay homage to the weather that made today feel so good.
