Last night, the Portland Trailblazers took on the New York Knicks at home. The Blazers had trouble shooting from 3 point land which eventually gave the Knicks a lead to run with. Win or lose, it's always a great time out supporting the local team. Thanks for the tickets Jared!

Playoffs are full steam ahead and today, in the wildcard battle between the Eagles and Packers, we headed to NE Cheeseville, Portland to enjoy cheese plates, sliced meat and Wisconsin beer roughly 2000 miles away from the motherland. Beaverton, OR is home to the all impressive Nike Headquarters, or "Campus" to those who frequent the area. The buildings are named after professional athletes once sponsored by Nike, most employees are head to toe in Nike gear and they average no more than 3.5% body fat. A cool company and a great place to work. Especially lunch breaks on a nice day where you might find yourself playing a fully organized soccer game or getting in a couple sets of tennis. Whichever floats your boat.

Duluth, MN is home of many great things like cheese curds, early morning drinking, and the largest inline marathon in the country, the North Shore Inline Marathon. About 4000 skaters compete in the 26.2 mile race for prize money, a cool shirt and a cold beer which awaits them at the finish line. All that and we didn't even have to leave the house to watch as they sped past the house I grew up in.

Kick off to the 2010-2011 season is underway and the Vikings got a chance to redeem themselves in New Orleans yesterday. Well, the final score wasn't in Minnesota's favor but the fact that it wasn't a blowout and Favre is still in one piece is a victory in itself. Go old balls, go!

I went for a hike from the house and found a lot of interesting features yesterday including Batman's lair, Herbie the Love Bug's long lost brother and the ancient ruins of motor cross. Seriously, about a hundred obstacles for the motorcycle enthusiast live deep in the midst of a sherwood-like forest. The only problem is that it seems the site has been through an apocalypse and the surviving humans are not capable of riding motor bikes. I don't know, it was really strange.

Ballpark Tunes

A rain delay at the ball park allowed ample time to capture behind the scenes coverage of a video shoot with the Portland Beavers as they faced off against the Tacoma Rainiers. No one knows what the score was at the end but we do know that I caught two fly balls in the four innings we were there. Two! Ok so there were probably 37 people at the stadium total giving me better odds but still, ... two. With balls in hand, I soon realized these balls were not for me but for the little ones getting spoiled on a weekday, sitting in box seats high on sugar... these kids are the ones who needed the rush of the fly ball... so I gave my balls to them.

I was able to break away from work a little and enjoy some of the 2010 Winter Games which was quite the time. So many people. Amazing atmosphere to be in. Afar from the local craziness happening all over Vancouver, I was able to attend Speed Skating and this early game with Germany and Belarus. After 16 days of Canada, I was happy to get back down to the states and not watch sports.
