The Tale of Zadah Trailer

VIDEO #200
Library Music
Two hundred videos! I thought it would be a great way to celebrate the moment by putting together a Walt Disney style movie trailer of a video my Dad filmed of us kids back in 1988 when we were little tikes. I remember having so much fun, running around all over Duluth, MN with my brother Matt and friends Nick and Morgan. The filmed runs 30 minutes in length, all edited in camera over the period of just one day. The premise is kind of a Goonies meets Stand By Me theme where we find a map and set out to find it. It's safe to say this influenced me in what I'm doing today, and no, I'm not a treasure hunter. Great thanks to my Dad for lugging us kids around, filming the movie that would become the first of many in my time. Thanks Pops!

Paul Bunyan

VIDEO #169
Rocky and Bullwinkle Theme
Some people go to church on Sunday while others might watch a football game. This guy simply chops a limb off his tree every Sunday. The only problem is it appears he is running out of tree. Either way, a good example of what people in Minnesota do on a typical Sunday.

Minneapolis Sculpture Garden

VIDEO #168
Song - "You Got Served" by Novi Split
We had some time to burn before our flight back to Portland so we traveled on over to the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden by the Walker Art Center. A beautiful day to walk around the park and check out the sculptures. Our favorite was the Two-way Mirror Punched Steel Hedge Labyrinth. There, we found out what our kid would look like if he/she was born an adult. Not the cutest of creatures but a happy camper at the least.

We Are Family

VIDEO #166
Song - "We Are Family" by Sister Sledge
It was a great trip to Minnesota and what a great way to wrap it all up with a family BBQ at Grandmas house? It was quite the day and I'm still smiling from all the good times. Thank you all for being such a loving family. Next BBQ at Katana and Dan's!

Inline Marathon

VIDEO #165
Song - "I Need You Tonight" by INXS
Duluth, MN is home of many great things like cheese curds, early morning drinking, and the largest inline marathon in the country, the North Shore Inline Marathon. About 4000 skaters compete in the 26.2 mile race for prize money, a cool shirt and a cold beer which awaits them at the finish line. All that and we didn't even have to leave the house to watch as they sped past the house I grew up in.

Minnesota's Biggest Snag

VIDEO #078
This guy really thought his snagged line was a massive Lake Superior fish. Well, I'll tell you... it was far more entertaining than any actual lake fish being caught.

Jesperson Studio

VIDEO #026
Songs - "Ain't You Wealthy, Ain't You Wise" by Bonnie "Prince" Billy
- "Gaucho" by Gustavo Santaolalla
- "Mad World" by Roland Orzabal
For my dad's birthday today, I thought of posting some of his great photography from over the years. I have such great memories growing up and heading over to his studio downtown in the DeWitt Seitz Building. That's where it all began. His funky man cave studio was exactly what I wanted when I grew up. So many awesome tools and toys, props and whatnots... oh it was the best! Well, I'm not quite there yet, Dad, so get on over to Oregon and help with the new studio. Show me how it's done! Happy Birthday, I love ya tons and thank you for all the inspiration.
The small video does little justice so check out Jesperson Studio's site HERE

Destination - BWCA

VIDEO #018
Song - "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot
Paying homage to one of my favorite places growing up and to this day, the Boundary Waters Canoe Area back home in Minnesota. Never a bad time with a good group of friends, your boat, rod and reel and some bourbon. It's full of wildlife with an abundance of lakes for great fishing and swimming. Most importantly, it's that you're away from everything and the further you get out, the better it gets.
