Art of Cuisin'

VIDEO #272
Song - "Zorba the Greek" by Gypsy Kings
Santa dropped by the other day and left a couple kitchen gadgets for the queen of the house. A sweet, sexy food processor made her grin ear to ear and the first recipe tonight... a delicious greek hummus. Very tasty and the flavors linger whether I want them to or not. Strong awesomeness, hello toothbrush.

Lasagna Night

VIDEO #267
Song - "Lasagna" by Weird Al Yankovitch
Birthday dinner in two styles, gluten free meatless healthy style (aka Cheese Louise) or dangerously awesome wheat-meat style (aka Man Pie) decorated and cooked with tender loving care. I went Man Pie in celebration of the 30th. I feel much manlier today.

Musical Fruit

VIDEO #253
Song - "Gettysburg" by Ratatat and The Musical Fruit Person
My Dad recently sent a package all the way from Minnesota and in that package was a bag of Ham Been's Brand Cajun Beans. If you know my Dad, this would not seem awkward. Sometimes he'll walk around the house and throw stuff in a box then send it out my way. Sometimes things have been living at the house for some time. I was pleased to see the beans were not expired and it turned out to be a great gift as the beans turned out real fancy. Thanks Dad!

My Refrigerator

VIDEO #238
More random music we all love
It wasn't easy to put these guys and keep them in the fridge... the aid of cheese infused hotdogs helped. Now, the white beast waits by the cold, magic black box for more delicious treats. What have I done? Also, I think this completes appliance options in the household for video possibilities. Microwave, washer/dryer, oven, fridge, heater - check...... wait we've got a toaster, blender, crockpot, etc.... ah ha! Just when I thought the fun was no longer.

Magic Pies

VIDEO #237
Elevator Music
In a perfect world, pies would make themselves, right? Well Skymall has done it again, they've come out with the Magic Pie Range, from Maytag! You only need a dish, patience and an oven mitt, the rest is magic!... but, to cover my butt I should say the better half has been slaving in the kitchen for the last couple hours making Thanksgiving apple and pumpkin pies. She is the real magic pie maker. Brownie points, take them where you can get them.

Paint Her Kitchen

VIDEO #227
Song - "Slow Hand" by Conway Twitty
After a handful of months with the initial light blue Martha Stewart hue in the kitchen, the time has come and the decision from the boss has been made, "We need more color in here and before Thanksgiving please!" Still sitting here in my painting garb, I am happy to say... "Sanctuary" Blue/Green from Ralph Lauren is up and ready for your viewing pleasure my dear.... now cook me a turkey!

***Special Thanks and Film Credit to Shirley Speer A.S.C. who brought us the final shot to our viewers, ... Amazing work:)

Sometimes You Feel Like A Pickle

VIDEO #204
Songs - "The King of Carrot Flowers" by Neutral Milk Hotel and "Carrot Rope" by Pavement
Harvest is here and this year, with the success in the carrot department, pickling was on the menu. There are tons of fast and easy recipes out there so if you're bored of gnawing on those carrots, try something new... try pickling! Cauliflower, onion, broccoli stems, cucumber and radishes work well too. Crunchy goodness!

Katana's Non Stick Magic Pan

VIDEO #184

Song - "Breakfast at Tiffanys" by Deep Blue Something

The days of scrubbing and scrubbing eggs off our All-Clad are finally over! Katana researched a safer alternative to Teflon and found Calphalon. If you use the correct care it doesn't kill you. I guess only time will really tell... stay tuned.

There really is no excuse for this video other than we're going on a 170 of these things.

Kung Fu Katana

VIDEO #141
Team Fortress Soundtrack
I want to show you what Katana is capable of, just so everyone out there knows not to mess with her when she's wielding an oversized knife. Take it from me, three fingers and a toe later, I'll be the first to warn you. And yes, we have a miniature graveyard in the backyard for severed extremities.

Cooking with Katana: Blackberries

VIDEO #134
Song - "Blackberry Winter" by Aram
After exploring the area more, we are finding little edible bonuses around the neighborhood. On a what-should-be road, instead footpath, live cherry sized plums and delicious crab apples. Also, there are tons of blackberries down the road where Katana and I grabbed tubs and headed out for a little urban foraging. The final result, little blackberry pies or tarts if you will. Ummmmm, delicious!

Microwave Lessons

VIDEO #072
Library Music
I have been waking up unusually early these days and I think my focus and common sense have been compromised due to that. This incident took place this morning and I would like to know if I am the only one who has started their day off this way. Caution to those with weak hearts, the detail in this video is "juicy!"

The Self Eating Sandwich

VIDEO #004
REQUEST #001
The first "Video of the Day" request from Dadio is "The Self Eating Sandwich!" I already know what he will say about this:

"What's wrong with this picture? You didn't use the classic white bread. It's the only bread for a PB&J... and you cut the thing wrong, you know better to cut a PB&J diagonally, not down the middle!? What has become of my son?"

I have no excuses for this but to say that here in Portland, us hippies tend to stay away from the white bread and from my experience that whole grain stuff likes to fall apart, hence a cut down the middle for a more square surface area. For this I am sorry to have failed you Papa. In my defense, I have not strayed from the all important Skim Milk to compliment the PB&J. Thanks for the request Dad.
